Non locking trem for 7 string??

Hi, is there anyone with some information on this topic? I've recently picked up my first seven string guitar, and im so happy with it that i'm planning to sell my six strings and have a custom 7 built.
So im looking for some information on non locking trems for a 7 string guitar. Only one i've found yet is the hipshot http://www.hipshotproducts.com/index5.htm Looks awesome but is a bit expensive... Is it worth the money? Are there other options?

And how will a non locking trem affect my sound? So far i've only played with floyds.

Hope to read some answers! thanks.

Hipshot products can usually be cheaper elsewhere, i got a tremsetter of Musicians friend for 35+ Shipping, on their website its 48 or more, believe. i dunno who carries their bridges though.
A nonlocking trem will give you more sustain and muting the strings heavily wont make them go sharp.

Thanks, i'll see if i can find an store that ships internationally (unfortunately most webstores don't ship outside usa). No i also read somewhere that a non locking trem will give more high end clarity or so? And more sustain, wel thats a good thing...

Is there nobody with some experience on these hipshot trems? Maby someone has the 6string model? Can't find many reviews about it either. Only Ed Roman seems to be telling the world that some similar trem is his great innovation and blablabla...

Anaway, thanks sofar!

That's true of a non-floating trem, not a non-locking trem. a strat-style trem that locks down at the bridge will have the same stability and sustain qualities of one that doesn't lock, and a strat-style non-locking trem set to float will have the same weaknesses as a Floyd.

Sorta a minor detail, but just wanted to clarity... For you 6'ers, Fender makes a nice locking strat-style trem- no fine tuners, so you can't really use it with a locking nut, but a graphite/roller nut and locking tuners will get you pretty close...

I haven't used it but I do know a VERY knowledgable player who has and he recommends it very highly. I've always been really pleased with the parts I've gotten from Hipshot.

Thanks Jim, all i need to know is that it's top quality. Not that i absolutely want the best, but since they do ask a price for wich i do expect top quality... I 've been looking around your site and noticed you use the hardtail hipshot bridge and so does jeremy for his leviathan. So, hipshot has another buyer...

By the way, nice guitars those swan models, but i'm happy with my 25.5 scale. Verry beatiful tough.
