Re: not happy with my prestige guitar

Did you try out the 1570 before you bought it?

Re: not happy with my prestige guitar

I don't have a 1570 but I've played a couple and they both played, felt and looked great.... was it set up properly? When I bought my 2570 I felt the same way you do until I had it set up properly, then it came to life. good luck.

Re: not happy with my prestige guitar

I would agree with the setup idea. I have had guitars feel like trash until the tech gets ahold of them.

Heck, I had 5 different RG's pass through my fingers until I realized that the 540 Radiuses were the best thing for me.

Hope it works out.

My 1570 also needed a setup at first, but she's been my #1 since the day I got her

Re: not happy with my prestige guitar

My RG1570 was setup by Rich at Ibanez Rules and it feels amazing. It went out of tune in three days but oh the neck feels beautiful!

Get a setup. Even the best guitars need a setup when first purchased.

Re: not happy with my prestige guitar

The rg 1570 has two brass bushings under the nut. I took the thick one out of mine and was 1000 times better feeling. The tallness of the strings at the top of the neck made the guitar feel like pulling railroad ties.I would't put evolutions in it ,they did'nt go good with mine .It is a great guitar after that , and a solid trem too.

Re: not happy with my prestige guitar

Can I have it?

Don't know what to tell you, when I got mine, even all out of whack, I could tell there was something special about the neck compared to every other guitar I had played. Played it with absolutely no tuning and intonation to speak of and I could still tell I had something special.

Re: not happy with my prestige guitar

Well, you should have have played it before you SPENT THAT KIND OF MONEY. And if you still don't like it by the end of January, learn to enjoy it, because the resale value on Prestiges suck donkey nuts.

Re: not happy with my prestige guitar

maybe you just expected too much of a difference and are disappointed now. I don't think there is too much of a difference.

Is it the 5 piece maple neck? I think i prefer the old one piece necks. The newer prestige necks are a bit thin and to my ears suck some natural tone compared to the more solid one piece necks.

Re: not happy with my prestige guitar

is the rg450 with a edge bridge?then it is one of the best rg's you can get(its a 550 then)
and those are even better than a prestige...so if you are used to that one it can be that you must get used to the new guitar.
