This is not my JEM but the Jem is next!!

Being I have played for over 26 years I have longed for a few years for a "custom" axe. One I could call my own. Finally I am getting there.

Here are some pics of my project Ibanez S1520, these are all the same guitar and different light angles. I still need to power buff it but it's close to completion. I am already planning to do my JEM next. What do you guys think of it? Would a JEM in this be cool?

Thanks for the input.

S1520FB? Wow, that took guts!

It looks good though, I really like the color shifting paints. Is that Chromeillusion?

Looks fantastic!!

Like the JS, this looks really nice with all the curves, but being that a JEM is more flat, you won't see as much contrast. I've seen it done I priced the Chromallusion on Saturday...YIKES!!

What you have here is killer!!

I think that looks very cool I'm looking forward to seeing how the colour chaning paint looks on thinks like the lion's claw rout and around the handle too

I moved this over from the JEM section as it's primarlt about an S1520

Then it suddenly occured to me that the S1520 is a prestige guitar, not a regular series Ibanez... so we're off to the Custon and Prestige section !!!

Looks a lot like Petrucci's $400 option finish on his current Ernie Ball guitars. Mystic Dream, is that what they call it?

But yes, it was crazy not to take off the neck, what's up with that?

Those Prestige S necks are lovely too...

Oh well. I'm having a Jem chromed shortly so hopefully I too will have cool pics to post.

You got it Neven, that is an old series 10 neck I had laying around. Makes a nice painting stick and I didn't have to worry that the screw holes didn't line up.

Man, I have to get the nerve up now to do my 7VWH!!! This one ain't done yet though. Maybe by the time I finish it...

The paint is from our Dupont friends and it's called Mirage. Comes in Purple->Green, Green->Silver, and Green->Red. It takes 3 basic steps. A matte black base coat, the mirage color coat, the sealer clear coat. Pretty easy to do if you handy with a sprayer and have a (nearly) dust free environment.

I will post more detail photos when the project is complete.

Gotta find someone with a LARGE low RPM buffing wheel...

Hey Eddie, if I paid shipping and floated ya 50 bucks could I borrow that buffer for a couple days?? I don't have 360+ bucks to buy one for just this one guitar.
