Love those old Radius models. Those bursts are weird, though. Congrats!

Yeah, I love those old Radius models too. Especially in those wierd and funky burst colours.

I will have one one day. Absolutely Lovely!
Congrats.

Exact the model I am having too (exept mine IBZUSA have just IBZUSA printed on them).

If you find out what the color is called plz inform me, I never could figur it out.

How much did you pay?

Thanks!

Hey Lenny, the Pickups have actually IBZ V2 and IBZ S1 written on them (in the same style like those IBZ/USAs), which seems pretty strange to me. Every V / S series pickup I've seen before just had, for example, 'V2' written on on it.

Because of the different pickups mine seems to be a 440R and yours a 540R (I think), with the pickups being the only difference. I'll know for sure when I have pulled the neck.

I paid 190eur. Not quite the 160eur-deal I got on *cough* that other guitar a year ago, but I'm very pleased.

I'll have to work a bit on it. I need one new locking stud, and, if I get the chance, a fancy JS neckplate, lol.

No clue about the color!!

Gern geschehen, ich freue mich immer wenn jemand eine Radius hat

But actually I've seen some Radius that had IBZUSA and V2 etc. on them, mine not, but it is true, I never seen them with just IBZ V2

Yes, that is right, but still I have no idea about the color-code (and I am too much of a coward (and to less a handcraftsman) for pulling of my neck (next it is my only guitar, for gigs I lend out a friends Maxxas as backup...

Damned... 190 Euros???? I thought it is worth much more... but actually that comes handy when I will buy me a second Radius

I think when you pull of the neck you'll get the colorcode.

Keep on playing!

Yeah 190 is pretty cheap, but considering I'll have to put some new parts and work into this axe, I think I'll end up paying at least 50 bucks more. I've got one closeup picture of the Edge trem, that'll give you nightmares!

Setting a definite value on a guitar is always difficult. I got my other radius (Picture here), which is now my main player, for 160 euros, but wouldn't sell it for less than 400. If you like an instrument, the value raises. For you. If nobody wants it, that's fine. And if nobody else wants it on ebay, that's even better!!

How good are Radius guitars? Compared to, say, JSs or Higher-end RGs (550 and up) - I think they look pretty cool, and if i can get one for less than $200 and plop some pickups in it, that might be a pretty sweet deal..

They sure beat the low-price JS, I prefer them over the high-end JS, but I think that is a matter of taste. As for the RGs I think it is another kind of feeling playing the guitar... if you prefer the JS over the RG try to get one (in the end (or in the beginning ) ) the Radius was the basis for the JS-model... I got mine new (back in 91 (even though it was made in 87) for 600 Euros (List-price was something around 900... at least the music-dealer tried to told me).

It arrived today!! Friggin dirty, but beautiful. Just one tiny problem... Just wanted to replace one of the trem studs, but I can't loosen the stud inserts!! Seems they have never been moved in the past 15 years. Any tips to make them loose???

Btw: This axe doesn't have a serial number, anywhere! Odd.
Oh, and I pulled the neck, the neck stamp reads N UALRL with a red B stamped besides it. The neck pocket stamp just reads 40R . Yeehaa, I've discovered the 40R Series, lol

Another question! I've got a grounding problem, the grounding wire from the 5-way switch to the volume knob is broken. So far so good. Is it ok to solder the new grounding wire to the back of the tone pot instead of the volume pot? (cause there's plenty of unused "space" on the tone pot, and I'm not really *the* soldering mastermind)
I've checked with a potentiometer and it should be ok. Just wanted to wait for the "go!" from one of you guys, lol.
