old artist series axes.....

http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/index.htm

Check out the artist series from '85 and '86 with the floyd bridge...damn, wouldnt you buy one if they still made them? I would kill for an Epiphone les paul/ibanez artist series/ibanez ax style body equipped with a floyd rose!

Yeah the floyd doesnt really look "at home" on that style body, but it seems floyds only come on superstrat styled bodies now. Dont get me wrong, I love the superstrat style, but it would be nice to have the versitility of the floyd on a classic style body.

But have you gotten the chance to play one Glenn? If you like the body style its really nice to have that big ass neck and body on a les paul and be able to pull up on the bar. Gives you more of a bright strat tone too which is always a good thing for the dark les paul

Let me be very clear. I don't think an edge trem belongs on an "artist" any more it belongs on a violin or a bass. For many reasons, including waaaaay too much body wood is removed for the floyd/edge routing

obviously, "customer" concensus is with me, as those went way of the dinosaur. The resale on those is abysmal ...glen
