Old rg570 vs new rg2570

Should I buy a RG570(1991) or a rg2570(2007) ?

Being now in good condition, how long would last the Wizard neck of the RG570?

Thanks!

I vote old RG570 cheaper, change the pickups to what you want and it will still be cheaper, plus I love the original wizard necks

Re: Old rg570 vs new rg2570

Thanks for the reply, the one I'm looking for already has Dimarzio EVO pickups and a Lo Pro Edge bridge. I'm in Argentina, the RG570 costs 1200USD and the RG2570E 1700USD! Do you still vote for de RG570? The RG570 is twenty years old, that doesn't affect the Wizard neck?

My main player these days is a 91 770DX. Walks any 2500 series I've tried.

The important thing is to check the neck for playability. I've also got a '87 560 that has so much warp in the neck it doesn't even make a nice decoration!

What he said , so true. and my main axe is a 91 rg770dx lb. but my 87 rg550 has a toasted neck. i noticed the rosewood ibanez i get that are old have neck problems , but my maple is perfect.

If you can, I'd try them both out and see which one you like better. Some people can care for instruments far better than others. I've seen 40 year old guitars that look gorgeous and spotless, but I've also seen guitars less than a year old, but so beat up and worn down that they are simply trash.

I'd go for the reinforced neck, i.e., the 2570.

Re: Old rg570 vs new rg2570

It will depend on the guitars themselves; people tend to tell you to get what they have, not what they've tried. I've had a '91 770 and it played great, but no where near as well as my '04 1570. It's a case by case sort of deal, you gotta try them out and see which you like better. If you have to go for it without getting to try it, you'd be better off getting the RG2570 due to the reinforced neck; the only reason I say that is because there just seems to be less of a chance you're purchasing a dud.
