Old skoolers..Road Star??

I saw this red Road Star or something like that name and it had a factory graphite neck. Anyone know anything about these? Were they any good? They were asking like $300 for it. I think it was red and in good shape. Had some wear and minor scuffs from picking. Is this a rare guitar? Its the only one ive seen with a graphite neck. Did they sound good? I assume not or else they would make em like that now. But any info is appricated.

Cool find! Those necks were made for Ibanez by Modulus. Its success (or lack thereof) in the marketplace was probably not so much to do with its sound, but that in the '80s, the thought of a premium-priced Japanese-built guitar was considered a little difficult to imagine. Ibanez was brave enough to experiment with trying to take their brand upmarket, but didn't really succeed until they got some high-profile endorsers.

Try it out, and if you like it, for $300, you can't go wrong. If you don't like it, i'll trade you a nice Carvin Bolt neck for that graphite one.
