older RG - model not known, help?

It's definately not USA, as it's made of Agathis. See through blue, same color as abilene/samick/silvertone ALK35DOS guitars.
It's got a pearloid pickguard, H/S/H pickups, a 24 fret neck, just like
an RG250... but that's where it ends.

One piece (or two piece, but why the walnut skunk stripe then?) maple
neck, 24 jumbo frets, gold hardware. Tremelo looks like a pearlcaster
tremelo (sorry for the mentioning of Ed) in two point style.

So, to recount:

body style: RG, pearloid guard
wood: Agathis
neck: Maple/Maple
tuners: Gold
bridge: Gold (looks like Pearlcaster)
pickups: H/S/H

thanks, later all - also, another question, is a RG250DX a good first RG?

search around. As a "FIRST" guitar you may want to look into getting a used 5xx series RG, but if yo must have new, make sure you get an rg with a DOULBE locking trem. THe single locking trem is so much worse than even the trs that its just ridiculous

k, thanks

I've heard the 5xxs were not very good (due to the bridge type) is that true? Thanks, later.

(what's the names of good floyd types that double lock?)

Youve heard the jem555s suck because they have the wrong type of floyd
The RG 5xx series has the edge tremolo system and on up, which is the best made. You can get a 520 used for around 3 or 400 dollars. Look into getting one of those

The guitar you describe sounds very similar to an RT650with the exception of the body wood and hardware color. Got any pictures?

RT650 -

Vintage style maple neck with skunk stripe, bound rosewood fretboard
Alder body with bound gravure top in transparent blue or red
Pearloid pickguard, H-S-H pickups
Locking tuners, two point "vintage" trem.
