Which one?

Which one do you prefer? Music Man or Ibanez Petrucci model?

I prefer Ibanez. JPM100 P2 is my favorite of JPM's. EBMM Petrucci models look kinda boring to me.

IMHO the EBMM looks boring too.

Re: Which one?

Although Im an Ibanez fan at heart, I'd have to say the Ernie Ball Music Man JP. I've read and heard nothing but GREAT things about the EBMM JPs and the radiant finishes they have to offer are nice.

Re: Which one?

I was very underwhelmed by the EBMM Petruccis that I've played, but I haven't played a 7.

Re: Which one?

I would go with the EBMM, simply because I think that they are one of the best guitars that money can buy. Especially if you find a nice one. They are just lovely, they feel great to play, they sound great. Have good resale value - at least over in the UK they do. I love them.

Re: Which one?

What do you expect? This is essentially an Ibanez board

On that note, I vote for the Ibanez as well. Love the classic RG shape, hate the pickups + Electronic config, and a Lo-Pro Edge is hard to beat.

The Ernie Ball Musicman is TOP NOTCH quality, no doubt, but their somewhat plain looking, the pickup + electronics config (Dont like them on either model! lol, Im partial to HSH or HSS just as long as there is a single coil in there SOMEWHERE!) and they have a non-locking tremolo. Its a pretty damn good non-locking tremolo, but you cant get as crazy as a Edge or Floyd. I LOVE the elbow route though, those are comfy.

What it needs. . .are some killer inlays, just something other than dots to really make it look awesome.

I just prefer the RG shape and Locking bridges, when it comes down to it.

Re: Which one?

This is a biased place to ask....

I never played either, but I voted for the Ibanez because I liked his tone a lot better with the Ibanez.

Re: Which one?

I love JPM90HAM. It is just gorgeous. MM is boring, but I've seen pictures of fixed bridge prototype with maple top, that was very nice.

Re: Which one?

Here's my 2 cents! The Ibanez model is better looking I think, except I don't like the graphic on it, the 90th is real nice though.

The EBMM, isn't bad, has a classic look to it.
