Oxidation on frets - How'd THIS happen?

* I looked at my guitar that I haven't played in a few months. The damn thing has some oxidation on the frets. How did this happen? How can I cure this horrible ordeal? It's a good guitar as well. This is no Hondo or Squier, Rogue.

Thanks

Oxidation on frets

Now that you mention it, my FFAARTs may have something to do with it! I like when a man is always thinking. My farting is such sweet sorrow. Such a RELEASE! You dig? When I fart it is the bellowing of an eternity. I'll tell you this much-->I don't mind being awakened in the middle of the nite by my own farts. It is the sound of obligation, of SPLENDOR! I hope you can understand. I bet you have some rancid farts (mine are perfume) Rich. Would you care to elaborate? Do they turn you on?

Thanks in advance,
Hitman

Thanks also for answering my question. Maybe some day some will start being answered.

That was the answer, atmospheric conditions, what in the air will corrode the nickel in the frets.

There's an old saying, you reap what you sow. If you were a little more polite others might be more inclined to be helpful.

(my don't even smell like roses, you'd never know I farted)

Kelv, you're right. I found out that by bending the strings you simply wear off the fine layer of rust. I even took an old scouring pad and polished up the frets. Thanks for the response though.

Rich is a fart. An OLD fart.
