Painting an Iceman

Found an old IC 350 on **** a few years ago and painted it up myself. Also added some better equipment, namely, a Dimarzio Evo2 in the bridge, a Breed in the neck pos. a Floyd Rose Pro in place of the ****ty Lo-TRS and a CTS 3 way toggle switch as well as Dimarzio K500 pots. This was my first of 5 paint jobs and despite the unwanted texture from the case lining imprinted on the back finish because it was still soft, I kinda dig it. By far my best design idea. Anyone else ever paint a guitar? What did you use as your reference?

Oh! I like that! You could almost get invited to Stryper just by playing that thing!

Is Stryper even around anymore? If memory serves Sweet and Fox played yellow and black Jacksons. But the 80's reference is accurate. Many of my designs are inspird by the 80's.

Re: Painting an Iceman

Sadly, my most recent paint job is a Ibanez JEM555Bk (see my post in that section for details) but the paint job on that went a little awry- spray painted it neon green and then hand painted the "Tree of Life vines" in black on it and when I clear coated it, the black kinda bled in areas. I'm bummed because the neck is on it's way and I'm far too impatient to repaint again. Maybe after I've gotten my GAS tamed, I'll repaint the body.
