Paker Fly deluxe vs Fly Classic

I'm selling my Deluxe, but my intention is to grab a Classic later on.
I much prefer the looks of the Classic ( Is there really a Blue Classic!!!????) and I expect that the mahogony will give it a fatter sound. Is this noticeable? Does it lose its twang?
Can those u have tried both please advice?
Thanks

I have played on both, I originally was going to buy a Deluxe as they were substantially cheaper, but I loved the Classic more. It looked better (mine is transparent cherry) and it sounded a little warmer, I think due to the mahogany vs, the basswood in the deluxe. I noticed it most in the Piezio (sp?) pickup. Yeah, it was more money, but I'm happy with it!!!!

Yes, there is indeed a blue Fly Classic. (I wanted a natural mahogany one, but only learned of their existance after buying my blue beauty.)

I absolutely love this guitar. It's without a doubt the most versatile instrument i've ever owned, and it covers all the bases for me sound-wise. The middle pickup position (where it cuts two of the coils like on the JPM series) has loads of twang. The neck pickup has a nice piano-like chime to it, and the bridge pickup cuts very nicely without being too harsh. "Balance" is the key word... everything just works together in a very holistic way.

I can't really compare it to the Deluxe, because i haven't spent more than about 20 minutes playing a Deluxe. My impression back then was that it didn't really do much for me tone-wise. I think it's safe to say that if you like your Deluxe, you'll love the Classic.

If only Parker would make a 7-string...

I sold a Parker Fly Deluxe to get into a UV777BK. Now I also have a 2027 and a 7620. Speaking strickly on tone, all three of these guitars destroy the Fly Deluxe. I found it to be a little sterile, not very high output...no real feel to it. When I had it, I was playing through a Rivera half stack so it wasn't the amp. WIth the Classic being mahogany, I think it should sound a little rounder, but the Fly wasn't. Clean it was a dream, but with high gain it can't compete with my Ibanez guitars. Incidentally, I think the body of the deluxe guitars is poplar and the neck is basswood, but my memory could be failing me. Check their website to make sure.
