Pawn shop find!

Please help, its $100!

Ibanez and the serial number is:

LA0402601 Im told "LA" is custom shop?
It has locking tuners with USA, I think schaller or something.

Mahogany neck Bold on.
Its black.

There no other markings,

It has 4 dials and a toggle switch (Toggle is on top by knobs)

I have a pretty bad chest cold and was not thinking to get a photo.

What can be told by the numbers? Ibanez custom shop year 04?

I forgot to mention is gibson looking kind of, perhaps SG looking, pawn is closed now or I would grab it,.

Re: Pawn shop find!

It could be a lawsuit guitar, I don't remember Ibanez producing an SG style guitar other then during the 70's.

Re: Pawn shop find!

It's LACS. It doesn't matter what it is, unless it's in pieces, buy it.

Re: Pawn shop find!

This is the photo, (Like I said I have the cold of the year and was not thinking well)

I only snapped the serial number, thinking it was enough!

LA0402601

http://imageshack.us/f/15/img0391gh.jpg/

It looks old and the wood behind the craks in the varnish is a dark dark wood.

Its 80 miles to get the guitar and I guess Ill hike down and fetch it.

It looks like an SG, I think, Im terribly sick and this was the best I could do. *COUGH*

EDIT:
Im almost sure it looks like below, I did not pay attention to the bridge, but the neck is the same and the knobs with the single toggle on the right top.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the neck is bolted on with no neck plate! Kind of sweet looking!

Re: Pawn shop find!

What if its the Korean one and just has USA tuners.
Then again, what is the LA0402601 number.

Well I need an adventure. Might as well make the hike down the mountain and check it.

Re: Pawn shop find!

The serial nuber sticker looks legit. Should be some Artist's LA Custom shop guitar.
These are not cheap and not sold to the public. As Rich said: Buy it. If you don't like it I am sure you'll find someone here to buy it.

Re: Pawn shop find!

The sticker was lacquered into the neck.

Sperzel locking tuners
DiMarzio pups all around.
Neck pocket reads AX 52

I mean I dont know what it is but it feels good and works good and sounds louder then my tele, my RG470's my Strat it just MEAT.

My Ibanez repair guy said he never seen one but the parts were good and the bridge he said was great.

Click the photo and it brings up all the photos I have!

Re: Pawn shop find!

Interesting case . . . I couldn't identify it based on my Googling. I really doubt it's LACS, though. My educated guess is a regular AX model with a couple of upgrades. It's worth more than a hundred bucks, but not much more. If I owned it, I'd part it out and pocket a little cash.

Peace

Mike
