Pawn shop prize! - JPM

Stopped by one of the local music stores on the way home from work...dude, those Suhrs are nice. *Almost passed on a visit to the pawn shop on the way home, but what the heck, what's five minutes?

On the rack sits a near mint JPM3 w/beat case...no strings, missing back trem cover and one nut clamp, and it appears to be signed by JP. *The price was low. *Went home and said..."Honey, there this..."

We went back and returned with one of these...

...after a stringing, tweak and polish it's quite a piece. *Please don't hate me.

Sorry, with my recent bad luck with pricey P3's I can't help but hate you.

Seriously though, congratulations on the P3.

Some guys have all the luck ! *All I can ever find, in pawn shops, are Charvel model 6's, Les Paul copies and guitars that are only useful as fire wood.

if you dont mind me asking, what did you get it for? looks nice, congrats!!

If I only had the money 2 years ago when they were clearing out P4's for $800 something...

I like the fire wood statement above. My pawn shops suck too, dont feel bad. All we have is those '60's lookin' harmony/kay whatever they are with the giant trem bars missing parts, oh and series 10 is big. All of them are way overpriced too, you should see when they actually get a real Fender, or 'Gulp' a real Les Paul. cant beleive Idiots actually buy them....

At our pawnshop here in town they don't even know what an Ibanez is, let alone an awesome axe like that.

Thanks, guys...I guess I was in the right place at the right time. *Believe me, plenty of overpriced fire wood at pawn shops around here too. *By popping in occasionally I've managed to score a deal or two (mint Mexi strat for $160, and a Boss RV-3 for $40).

Price? *Judging by this I did ok.

http://www.jpmsite.com/priceguide.html

I will say that I paid closer to the "poor" price for something closer to "mint." *

I got my P3 brand new after it sat on a shelf for about 8-9 months and I paid 900 for it and Im not ashamed to say so.
Pretty darn good deal.

Pawn shop prize!

hate me now.

last year my friend Homer said he'd sold his P3 to a friend for $650 or so. *He told me his friend wasn't thrilled with it and that I should give him a call. *Long story short, I got me a very good condition (two half inch gashes) P3 for $550.

Is it crass to discuss such deals? I'm still thrilled about it. This guitar rules. *Although I have to ask....why ivory and not white?
