Peavy Acoustic with Tremolo - I scanned the picture

A month or two ago there was discussion in the Buy/Sell section about this guitar. I finally found the pictures in a Peavy Moniter from a few years back.

It doesn't mention how the guitar's top has been strengthened. Wouldn't this be necessary due to changes in tension?

That was my thought exactly. Even if the top were strengthened, it would really affect the instument's tone.

It's not a true hollow-bodied acoustic. It's one of those "solid-body acoustic" type guitars. Probably a solid poplar back with a maple top and routed tone chambers.

I checked them out when they were introduced at the NAMM show years ago...they're mostly hollow, but have a solid block under the bridge (much like a Gibson ES-335 does). Other than that, they're hollow. They sound like complete crap unplugged, of course. Plugged in they're not much better. More of a novelty item than they are a useful instrument.
