PGM 10th - 25 frets + hard tail ?!?

I just saw that in the latest interview with Guitar One PG says Ibanez is currently designing a 10th anniversary model (although it has already passed), which will have:
25 frets, hard tail bridge, and the middle pickup selector being the bridge hum + tone capacitor ?
sounds really out of the ordinary
I guess since the NAMM's have passed it'll probably out next year?

25 frets? Hrm. High F, that's kinda odd.

Hardtail? YAY!

Add another string on it and get rid of the silly F holes, and it may be something I'd buy.

PG said he wanted the extra fret so he could play one of his classical pieces where he needs the extra note.

BTW, I hope they lose the f-holes too, but I doubt it. Even his Talman model had them.

First and foremost, Paul will never license a guitar without the F-Holes... if he did, it would simply be an RG. Plus, it's what sets us Gilbert players apart from all of you Jemheads.

Secondly, there will be no PGM 10 soon, if at all. I called Ibanez the day that article came out and dealer sales said that the guitar will be available to Paul and not the general public. There are no plans to debut one at Namm either.

The only place you seem to get PGM's nowadays is Japan.

Hawkwind is right. *A PGM without F-holes is like a Jem without a monkey grip

According to Paul, there will be a PGM10 at the Japanese Namm show later this month. Ibanez USA still doesn't know what he is talking about. Maybe one of our Japanese members can call Hoshino over there and find out if it will only be released overseas.

If so... Rich, I'm gonna need to call in a favor...

Dang!!

That looks so cool. *I want one...

But if the web translator is working correctly, it looks like they're only making 50, they're only available in Japan, and there's some kind of reservation system you have to go through to get one.

But hey, we can get all the PGM30s we want...
