Is this a PGM 30???

Guys, help me out here

is this a PGM 30?

He claims it's 1996, so, there were no PGM 3's being made, right?

How do you tell? I might be getting it SOON!

thanks a lot

Yes it is the pgm30, a cheaper model of the pgm100 with dot inlays and inf pups and lo trs tremolo. I like the reversed headstock.

Can you get the serial number? If you can go and plug it into this site: http://guitardaterproject.org/ibanez.aspx

If you do get the serial number post it here, I am curious as to the results.

EDIT: Also according to the ibanez wiki:

Name: PGM30
Years: 1993-2004
Areas: Worldwide
Made in: Japan
Finishes: JB (Jewel Blue) / WH (White)

I have a feeling no one would go through the effort of faking a pgm30 this flawlessly. It's not a high ticket guitar so if they were to fake one it would probably be the actual pgm100

Re: Is this a PGM 30???

Yeah, i see your point... it does look good, right? the only thing i've never seen before on a pgm is the allen wrenches attached to its back... can't get the serial right now, waiting on the dude to answer me... if it starts with an "F", we're good to go!

I've seen the ibanez wiki, and what makes me feel better is that in 1996 no PGM 3's were being made. So, if the seller is telling the truth, this is a PGM 30, indeed

Thanks!

I understand the need to reaffirm your thought through someone on the internet who may or may not know what they are talking about SO....

LOOKS GOOD TO ME.

How much are you paying if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Is this a PGM 30???

heheh yeah, you know... it's just that it's almost too good to be true.

it would be something like 850 us dollars... i know it sounds like a lot, but, in Brazil, stuff is REALLY expensive. I've seen 3 more people selling it (used) for around $1600... so, I can even get it to make a profit out of it, if I don't like it...

another thing... the ibanez wiki says that PGM 30's are always MIJ.... but on the net, i've seen people talkin about korean 30's... could this be a corean one, that's why it's so much cheaper?

I have never seen a PGM30 only the PGM100 with sharktooth inlays. The PGM100 got a reissued now, must be like a 20th i think.

Btw rich states that they moved the production of the PGM30 to Japan from Korea in 03. So there are Korean made PGM for sure.

Re: Is this a PGM 30???

Alright, thanks guys!

I've seen those posts, but they didn't quite convince me. I'm still to see a picture of a esrial# on a PGM30 starting with C or anything else.

Well, if it was only in 03, no biggie, since this is, allegedlly, from 1996.

Thanks a lot!
