PGM100 !

Hey !

I recently stumbled onto a original PGM100 in mint condition and was wondering what a reasonable price for this might be?

In advance, thanks

Re: PGM100 !

I sold my original PGM100 a couple months ago at a face value of $900 USD, and that wasn't mint, it had some player wear and tear, chips on the body. It was a first year, autographed cavity control plate, the plate also was signed by paul and his cartoon man and dated '91 on it. So, going by that price, perhaps it gives you a base to work with. Good luck with it.

Re: PGM100 !

I have no idea what the market is in Norway, but a mint original 100 in the US would be $1000-$1300 I think.

And, by mint I mean like the day it came out of the box mint.

Re: PGM100 !

The reissue is worth $1,300-$1,500 USD.

I have that guitar in Jewel Blue and back in the day was $1,500 brand new (out of the store). I got it for a lot less on second hand with some rust on the tremolo and neck plate.

Revise the whole guitar. If it does not present any corrosion or deterioration on the finish go for it. A 20 years old guitar is definitely better than a new one. For me any PGM in mint extra-super-mega-virgin-mint is worth over a $1,000. But that is me who am a sucker for Paul Gilbert stuff.

I posted a thread on the tech part of this forum asking questions about how to recondition mine. The paint on mine is in really bad shape now.

Re: PGM100 !

The guy who owned this didn't like it (Up until that moment I didn't think it was possible ), so he has just kept it stored with almost constant temperatur (around 18 degree celsius) and normal air humidety. It almost isnt used at all. And concerning the price, guitars over here are freaking overpriced, (e.g, a new PGM300rewh is about 4,000 USD), so I'm thinking about offering him around 2000 and work it from there
