PGM300

I'm looking into purchasing a used PGM300. The seller has informed me that it has a PAF Pro in the neck, JEM single-coil in the middle and a Tone Zone in the bridge. Are these the normal pickups that were installed on the PGM300 when it was first released?

Thanks, Eddie. I think this is a '92 model. The seller and I were discussing it and neither one of us is sure. Tone Zone is a great pickup so I guess I should be happy.

Can you or anyone else tell me the difference in the sound between using a tone zone in the bridge compared to a PAF pro in the bridge?

I could be wrong, but I swear that the PGMs used to come with a Tone Zone in the bridge and a Humbucker From Hell in the neck...

Tone Zone's a brighter pickup than the PAFPro with more gain. I use 'em in all my basswood guitars.

The PGM400 and 500 have the TZ and HFH. Alomst all other PG's are either all Paf or all TZ, Jem singles in between.

PGM300

Thanks for all the feedback. One more question: I think on Ibanez's main web page that the necks are stated as being 2mm thicker than the wizard necks (which I believe are 17mm). I also heard the necks on the PGM300 where the same as the necks on the RG3120. Which is true?
