Picked up a PGM30JB, and a RG421!!

Waiting on both in the mail, but hopefully I will have PGM30JB tomorrow, or Sunday!! I'm really excited about the PGM since I've never owned one before!

Got a question about the PGM. Are all PGM30's made in Korea, or Japan? I got the Jewel Blue version, but I have no idea when they started selling them here in Japan?? I'm hoping I'll be able to just swap out the TRS, and replace it with an Edge, or LoPro! If not I'm definitely getting it routed! It's tempting to get it repainted like a PGM200 if I do have to get the route!!! Sand the back of the neck too!! Anyway I'll stop rambling for now, just wanted to share!

i've never came across any PGM30 in jewel blue. but the white ones are made in korea. so i'm guessing your might be made in korea as well. but i'm not sure. gosh, wish i can have the cash to own one!

I was lucky, and scored it for 30,000Yen even off of Yahoo Japan! If it'd gone any higher I wouldn't be owning one! I don't know about you but I can't afford the new PGM30's. at least not now, but I feel your pain

The PGM30Jewel Blue versions were sold in Japan not the States. Don't know about Europ though??

Congrats Scott.

RG421's are great

If the PGM has a TRS you'll have to get it re-routed to fit an Edge, or Lo-pro. There's a guide on www.projectguitar.com that has a step by step on re-routing a TRS tremmed Ibanez.

wil..

Cool thx Wilch!! I'm hoping I will get lucky like some of the other Jemsite members who've been fortunate not to have to get a route done!

Yeah I couldn't resist the price on the RG421, and I love the hardtail versions too. Then throw in a Royal Blue Sparkle finish and I'm sold (oooohhhh sparklies!!).......

when you got your PGM30JB can you post some pics?
I really want a PGM30JB... although I have a PGM300
oh well I love the color! I would change the pickups to DiMarzios and the trem to Edge or Lo Pro (of course)... I wish I could find one in the states... but I've never seen one here...
does anyone ever seen a PGM30JB here in the states?

Yes, there was one on "auction" last week.

The PGM30's are made in Japan.

Unfortunately, no swapping of the trems.

I just worry now if I am going to screw up the paintjob having it routed Originally I would have loved to have gotten a PGM100, but I don't care for the sharkteeth, and like the reverse headstock better! Thx for the info Eddie appreciate it!

Once I get my site up, and running Ibanezer I'll definitely be posting pics!

I did too....but upon further research, I found that they are made in Japan. I automatically thought that the TRS was a dead givaway, but I was wrong ;-)

Thats cool though I am glad they are made in Japan. This one would look sweet with a PGM200 paintjob too, but I don't think I can bring myself to change the color since I love the jewel blue!!! Maybe I'll send it to you Eddie if I ever decide to do something like that

Personally, the only mod I would do is upgrade the pickups from stock to Tone Zones. I wouldn't reroute or repaint......but that's me.

I know I won't repaint, but I would rather have a Edge, or LoPro on there! I had to many problems with my old JS100

If you are ready to go for re-finish, I'd suggest filling the trem cavity and installitng a GTC101 fixed bridge. A guide on this was also on Projectguitar I think.
