pickups for rg2027xvv

im gonna buy a rg2027xvv (there are still a few about in the u.k.), and i would like some recommendations on pickups. The kind of sounds i am going for are one king down, korn, type mega-distortion, all the way to jazzy, bluesy clean sounds, via black flag type punk, david torn, bruce springsteen and bob dylan !

sorry that this is such a range of sounds, but i am going to have individual coil taps, tone and volume controls and a push pull phase reverse switch when both pickups are on (my favorite mod).

i play via a jmp-1 preamp, dbx ddp, quadreverb/ 2 and marshall el34 100/100 power amp into homemade 4 x 12's

i would also like anyones opinions on the sustaniac.

at the moment i play a esp m-207 with a bridge sd invader and a sd jazz neck, they are pretty good pickups but the invader is a bit to harsh and trebly

The stock bridge pickup is so close to the DiMarzio Blaze II that it's not even funny...

Slightly less output, but it sounds great.

The sounds you describe are easily attained from this guitar - big distortion in the 5 position and strat-clean in the 4 position. *If you change to the Blaze II pickup it just gets a little cleaner and a little tighter.

Hey, you're wiring sounds similar to mine. *here's what i did.
Air Norton 7 - neck
Tone Zone 7 - bridge
Each pickup has its own phase switch to reverse the coils polarity on themselves. *These are push/pull on the volume and tone. *Then the 5 way is as follows-

1. neck
2. neck cut (single)
3. both pickups (out pf phase, like a sitar sound)
4. bridge cut (single)
5. bridge
* * *You can get even more sounds with those positions by what is in or out of phase. *The middle position alone has 4 different tones. *In all i have.... 12 different tones, not including the piezo. *
