Planning on getting an RG

Hey guys, I would be going home to the Philippines this October and I'm planning to get an RG in one of the distributors there.

I already emailed them and the responded with a price quote.

I'm now choosing on three models; I hope someone here could help me choose the best one.

Here they are:

RG450LTD: 581.390 USD

RG1550: 583.212 USD

RG2550EX: 723.206 USD

I think I might go for the RG1550; its the best one for the price

Not really, picture it with Green Evolutions on the neck and Bridge and Green Volume and Tone Knobs. It would be a killer dont you think? and the Maple Neck is a plus coz its a bit hard to find in RG's now.

My second choice is the 450LTD. The 2550 over my price range I think.

the 1550 is a sweet axe! i like the green pup idea - i have the same set-up on my RG550. one day i might have a green vine inlayed to look like a sister guitar to my 777VBK. pls post pics when you get her.

agreed. i think cream options would flow better with the maple neck.

personally, i don't like the maple lol. i think the RG2550EX looks sharp, and so would the RG450LTD without the sharktooth inlays.

I agree with you wildealien. The only thing that turned me off with the 450LTD was the sharktooth inlays.

I like your idea as well...kinda like Mr. Vai's 7PBK Prototype but with a rosewood neck.

I like the 2550. No sharkfins, no maple. Nothing wrong with it as far as I can see

IBZRSII, the 2550EX is not neck thru. Cheers.

I do agree anyway that it is the nicest of the bunch.

1550 Is acceptable, 2550 offers little more than better sustain and warmer brighter pickups.

I would recomend a 1550 to the conservative buyer, swiftly followed by a pickup change (Preferably to Dimarzio Brand), and the 2550 to the buyer with the masive wallet for the higher quallity construction and hardware.

The pickups however on the 2550 are not up to standard Dimarzio scrutiny, and are not worth the added price.
