yep i got the black one last summer and just got the DY this christmas!

kevin good observation, how did you manage to find out that the DY is AANJ?

You can tell when you look at the where the neck joins to the body on the left. Compare the two. The old neck joint goes higher up. While the AANJ curves back in earlier.

The AANJ rules.

btw the black 550 had an accident today, the paint chipped off, as it fell off my shoulder.. damn stupid gig bag

It's also easy to tell the difference in the later (AANJ) models and the early ones -- the originals didn't have "RG Series" on the headstock, they only had an Ibanez logo.
