I put a Clapton mid boost in mine. Great mod. Turned up full the pickups become hotter than evos.

I'd use a Keeley Java Boost for that... works very nice!

You can put in new pickups or get a humbucker in the bridge and maybe neck if you like...

How about a set of Gotoh vintage style locking tuners, a Graph-Tek nut, Graph-Tek saddles so that the trem works, and a Duncan mini 59 or Custom in the bridge......?

An excellent option, but the mid boost is quite a different beast in the way it alters the sound. Also, a pedal isn't quite so easy to adjust on the fly mid solo!

How about scalloping the neck?

If you are in to EMGs check out the prebuilt DG-20 system:

http://www.emginc.com/displayproduct...1&catalogid=56

It has both the EXG expander and SPC presence controls built into it. Very flexible system.

I'd say change the pickups to your choice and then maybe add some of these parts:

Locking Fender Trem

http://www.fender.com/products/searc...tno=0990690000
Schaller Strap Locks

And LSR roller Nut

A fancy pickguard and some inlay work maybe also

the bottom line is do what YOU want!

Yeah! A Brown Tortoise Shell pickguard looks good on white Strat especially if it has a rosewood fretboard.

Re: Possible mods for a strat

my Oly White strat has gone through some stuff

It has genuine fender custom shop tuners and bridge, 3ply 60`s pick guard, graphite nut, Dimarzio HS3, HS2 and a Dimarzio Chopper,

i think it sounds great for a strat,

the only thing i learned recently is that the hs2 and 3 are really really really low gain, not quiet but will hardly distort.
