Premiums: officially dead?

They're no longer shown on the official site.
Are they done for good?

Re: Premiums: officially dead?

They're still out there on the North America (non-US), Europe, Asia and Japan sites.

Dead in the US? I'd say so.

Re: Premiums: officially dead?

It would make sense if they were to be discontinued here. The new Prestige guitars that we get are a far better bargain than the premiums.

The signature series premiums are still listed though, would they be gone too?

Re: Premiums: officially dead?

I love my RG921. They're good guitars. They just weren't as good as the Prestige or J Custom guitars as the marketing suggested. I wonder if they're keeping the Premium factory. I think they could run the RG15xx series through there. My RG921 reminds me a lot of my RG1570.
I think the Edge Zero / Zero 2 change hurt the line too. And the Yen getting lower too maybe.

They'll be around . Andy Timmons confirmed a white at10p a couple days ago on his facebook page.

Re: Premiums: officially dead?

Thank god. They were the stupidest thing ever. $1100 for an indo guitar was madness.

Re: Premiums: officially dead?

what I don't understand about ibanez business, when you can make genesis RG 550/570 for below $1000 , why keep pushing the idea of stupid premium line ?

Yeah really. Genesis and the 655s are in the same price range and mij but they make indo guitars for more. Why not close down Jawa operations (ibanez section) and just make gc level guitars all the time?

If Ibanez made only cheaper models like GC/655, they'd have to wipe out half of their lineup over here. Wish they would tbh.
