Prestige or J-Custom? Identification help needed!

I am considerig buying this guitar, because I've been looking for a nice J-Custom for a while. But is this really a J-Custom, when the logo says Prestige? The owner describes that he has no idea why it looks like a J-Custom, but seems to be a prestige. Need someone to clarify this!

I'm not able to provide pics at the moment, but the guitar has a yellow/orange-ish quilted maple top and apparently a J-Custom type serial number. The headstock still says prestige. I assume this is an easy one for most people here!

We really need some pics here--no way to tell what it is without seeing it.

I'd say it's a Prestige

It's a Prestige. Probably a Japanese market one. Undoubtedly a nice guitar, but not a J. Custom.

I think we managed to determine that it is a RG 3270.

that pic is not from the OP. We need Tore to come back and let us know if that's the same guitar that he's looking at.

Nah, not really needed. It's from a norwegian forum. We all know of each other, and there is only this Ibanez RG for sale.

Re: Prestige or J-Custom? Identification help needed!

Mystery solved!

It's a 2002 RG2680AM

http://jcustom.web.fc2.com/catalog/2001/2002_07.jpg

That's a Steve's Special in the bridge. I was wondering what that was, because it obviously isn't a Tone Zone.

The RG3270AM was not a bad guess. Those came out in 2003, but had an Edge Pro bridge. This guitar has a LoPro.

It does look EXTREMELY similar to a 2000 J.Custom RG1680AM. Pickups are even the same. Other than the J.Custom vs. Prestige script on the headstock, you'd have to have both guitars in your hands to tell the difference. The J-C will have nice touches like recessed knobs, aluminum control covers, better fretwork and often a higher quality maple top.
