But, I play very lightly and have never had problems with my frets. Except maybe my RG550LTD, which I've had since 1995 and it's starting to show a little bit of wear. Well, I use the same technique on both types of my guitars and the Prestige def show signs of wear quicker, which is the point I'm making. General strumming doesn't wear them, it's using lots of vibrato and enthusiastic use of the trem that speeds it up ! By 'wear' I don't mean it needs a fret dress every 6 months, it's just a visual thing, nothing major !
