probably the worst prestige of all times. I got it, lemon of the lemon

I got this rg1570 brand new from a non authorized ibanez dealer, i am wondering if there is any warranty for that? It have some kick arse defeats that might surpass your imagination on a prestige, even chibanez can do better. Anyway this guitar have been with me for about 5 months. Can I send this guitar back to ibanez hq and ask them to do something about it?

Anyway I would just list out the defects first

1) crooked side inlays (nuff said)
2) slanted edge pro (the routing is slanted, similar the korean s prestige? the one someone posted with slanted zr trem)
3) no idea how should i describle this, but take a look at the pictures on my edfe of my fretboard

inspection card (i think all of them have a bad day or something)

Look at the awesome edges of the fretboard and the side inlays! it made my balls shrink!

Dude, are you sure it isn't fake?
The frets look a funny colour too.
I don't mean to insult or offend, it just seems super dodgy to me.
That's meant to be Prestige!

Yeah, doesn't look right to me at ALL, and I have a 2003 RG1570 Prestige sitting right beside me for reference...

Re: probably the worst prestige of all times. I got it, lemon of the lemon

The edges of the fretboard on my RGA121 are like that, I was never sure if it was like that from the factory as I bought it second hand, but yes it does look a bit strange, as long as it doesn't affect playbility (which it doesn't), I'm personally not bothered - and I got it a price I can't complain at.

Anyway, if you're serious about returning the Ibby and getting a replacement, send many DETAILED pictures to any official Ibanez address you can and see what they say. I have a feeling they would help you out.

initially i thought i might got a fake or something, but i really dont think so, the stamp mark, the new stamp mark, the hardcase, the manual everything seems so real.

Anyway have any idea whats the email of ibanez? Where should I send it to? ibanez jp? or ??

argh i am really confused now, actually i really like this guitar i am afraid if i send back for a replacement, the new guitar might not feel "right" to me. Its really hard to explain, this guitar have many flaws but i still like it. Do you guys think i should ignore the comestic flaws and carry on?

Since you have no authorized dealer to argue on your behalf I doubt anybody will care. You've had it 5 months, either sell it or live with it.

telling it how it is!

5 Months is a long time to wait before you actually do anything about it.

Just keep it how it is if you still like it.

I'd like to see the pics of this slanted bridge.

Not to be the party pooper in the bunch but, as far as the dots are concerned.... How are they going to affect the way the guitar sounds or your playing for that matter?

The inspection card doesn't look weird to me when I look at the dates. The date is just done a different way (yy.mm.dd). Again, this is not going to affect your playing.

Re: probably the worst prestige of all times. I got it, lemon of the lemon

The edge of the fretboard looks pretty normal to me. Ibanez seems to be doing that to some of their instruments to give it a more "broken in" feel. Side dots don't affect anything. I've seen screw-ups on Jems and J-Customs.

Seeing that you got it from an unauthorized dealer, I doubt anyone at Ibanez is really going to give a sh!t. If the guitar is that bad then just sell it.

Re: probably the worst prestige of all times. I got it, lemon of the lemon

Just be glad it's not like the 1570 I recently bought off a friend of mine. He had a Dimebucker in it and when i changed the PU to a Super Dist. I realized the guitar was tonally dead (then I tried a TZ, EVO2 and others). There are literally no harmonics in places where they should normally be. It took changing out the PUs to something I am more used to before I knew that it was a bad piece of wood (and that was after I bought it, of course).

I rather a guitar be ugly than be tonally dead.

I wouldn't care about the dots, but if the routing is crooked you should return it (if you can)

Rich nailed it, you're stuck.
Not buying from an authorized Ibanez dealer was a big mistake. Suck it up and consider it a learning experience. Im sure the dots weren't level before you left the store with it.
