Angry Problem on the G and the B string

Hi, i have a washburn guitar with a licensed floyd rose. The problem that i have is when playing notes only on the G and the B strings starting from the 15th and until the 24th fret, when i fret the notes i get this irritating sound (like its not intonated or like 2 notes are played together but they dont sound good with each other) and some notes die quickly! ... its really killing me! i have tried everything the floyd is strait with the bod, i adjusted the intonation, changed the stings, adjusted the action and the truss rod but its still the same!

should i consider changing the floyd? or should i try using the Groove Fat Finger, i read something on the internet thats it could solves some problems ...

any ideas ??

thanks!

If you don't find an answer on the internet, you might consider taking it to your local guitar shop, if the problem isn't too big they should repair it for cheap.

Re: Problem on the G and the B string

Sounds to me like one of, what we call chair contractors in Norway, is lose or broken in the tremolo.
What kind of tremolobridge exactly is it?

Re: Problem on the G and the B string

I retract my previous statement. That bridge doesen't have them..
Hmm.. I bet my life the problem is somewhere on the netlock or the bridge.
Sounds like when the string vibrates, it nudges something lose..
Since the action and fretbuzzing seems to be outta way, have a look and do some tests with the bridge and the nut.

Re: Problem on the G and the B string

Get the fret level checked. You may have uneven frets at the top of the neck. A lot of guitars will ship from the factory with very little setup work done on the frets, and you can find that a new guitar may need the frets filed. If there any high spots, the strings might be touching them when they vibrate, which would certainly cause them to die out quickly. And the further up the neck you go, the steeper the string angle is, so it could explain why it only happens after the 15th fret.

Re: Problem on the G and the B string

I thought that was elliminated?
If not, forget about about your tremolo and nut... Do this FIRST. unwanted fretbuzz is a pain. Maybe you just need a partial fretdress.. Done in a flash.

Re: Problem on the G and the B string

It sounds like the frets to me.
If you raise the bridge higher than you like it, does the sound go away?

Re: Problem on the G and the B string

i really tried to play with a high action but nothing has changed ... and if the frets are the problem ... why only the notes on the B and the G string ?
