Re: purple RG

Deja vu! This brings back some great memories. Exactly same as my 1990 RG750 (until I stripped the paint off). Absolutely awesome player. Unfortunately mine is retired now (too much fretwear and worn out hardware).

Re: purple RG

It's wonderful, imo! I love purple! I'm not a big fan of sharktooth inlays, but in this particular context they look very good.

Re: purple RG

hey rg... I have nearly the same guitar but it's a 550PN... I can't read the serial # but mine is F1xxxxxx... 550€ sounds a little steep with that huge gash on the side... Otherwise, they're solid axes!
Here's my 550PN :P

To me, the price sounds about right given the state of the European market at the moment. RG500s are usually being offered at around 300 to 450 at the moment, I for one thing a 700 series is worth a little bit more.

Re: purple RG

Funnily enough Jono I agree with you That's one of the reasons I'm keeping my 750.

Re: purple RG

neck on 750 is Wizzard , same as Super Wizzard except bubiga stripe, am I right ?

p.s. what are differences in sound/feel/quality? between 1pc/3pc/5pc necks ?

p.p.s. guitar should be here by end of week

Re: purple RG

Yeah, that's the older "pre-bubinga" Original Wizard neck.

Feel/Sound shouldn't be an issue, except that the old square heels sound better to some of us compared to an All Access Neck Joint. The multiple laminated necks are supposed to be more stable, that's pretty much the whole point of the construction.

Re: purple RG

i see now, thanks

I remember when rg550 20th first came out, I went to store to try one and it had much fatter neck from the back than mine RG1550 wich is superwizzard (except i dont see any bubinga stripe at back ). But i never tryed original 550/750 neck. My 1550 is superthin
