The Quest Is Over...

It only took me just under 5 years. :-)

I'm the insanely proud owner of the RG-EGYPT!
I can barely contain myself enough to type; my hands are still shaking.

It is absolutely gorgeous. I don't have pics of me, or my other J-C's, with the EGYPT, but the previous owner was very cool and sent me a bunch of pics. CLICK HERE for the pics he sent.

This thing is absolutely everything I thought it would be. ALL of the hieroglypics and artwork are HAND-CARVED, and HAND-PAINTED! There's some good "relief" to it. It's amazing, and extremely precise.

I haven't gotten the hieroglyphics translated yet, but I do know the names of the gods. They are as follows (positioned as if you're playing it):
Above neck pickup: "Amun"- God Of Creation
Above bridge: "Set"- God Of Chaos.
Below neck pickup: "Thoth"- God Of Wisdom, Scribes & Writing.
Below bridge: "Re"- God Of The Sun.
When the translation is complete, I'll post it here.

More pictures VERY soon. And if you want to see it in person, you'll get your chance at Jemfest 2002! It will be down there.

I'd like to thank Rich Harris and John Cowan for their help in all this. You guys rock so f-ing hard! :-)

Well, that's it...no more guitars for me.
I hope you all get the same feeling I have right now- when you've found "the one".
Good luck on your quests!

Oh MY God! THAT is an incredible guitar! Of course, I only say "incredible" due to lack of any other suitable term.

CONGRATS, Kev!

It's nice to see someone's dream come true...

The detail of that guitar blows me away! Now you've GOT to come visit Colorado soon!

Yo.... Awesome Guitar.......... Congrats Kev.... Now that you have it you need to spend a little alone time with it ... hehehhehehehehaaaaa

Make sure to wear it naked to break it in...

I think it is amazing... I wish Ibanez made more guitars like these. They are so much better than those PRS Guitars.....

Now I know if I need a guitar hehhe I can plead with you to let me borrow any of your j-customs... Well since you are being left my 7-string if I pass on to the other realm....

Congrats... and remember to shave with it...

Fantastic news Kevan!!!!!!!

Since you sent me the pics I have had my fingers crossed for you!

Look forward to seeing it soon

Plus I am going to get some people at the British Museum to translate the hieroglyphics

"This kicks ass like nothing has ever kicked ass before" with apologies to Butthead
