No it's not a USA, it's an RG570/770 in PN. The neck is a standard wizard for the time. cool that it has a reverse headstock, you don't see too many of those.

The mark in the heel looks to be BS....

Re: question about ebay 111232587262

It is not a USA built custom,it is made in japan and assembled in USA at Bensalam just like many many others.
Rare to find color and reversed headstock make it interesting and it is a quality instrument in great condition........but not at that price.

Re: question about ebay 111232587262

Not a USA Custom but certainly an interesting guitar. Might be a parts guitar, but I'm guessing either a one-off or some limited run. The body, pickups and bridge all point to it being a '92 RG570PN. RG570's had color matched headstocks that year and of course dots on the fretboard.

I'd be more inclined to believe that it was a parts guitar if the headstock serial didn't match, but it does. A UCGR from that year would have the large, gold USA Custom logo and would also be AANJ.

The odd thing to me is the Bensalem neck plate. Other guitars produced in 1992 would have had North Hollywood plates.

If I had to name that guitar I'd call it an RGR570DXPN.

I think your right about it being a "parts-anez" The plate is definitely one that would never be found on a 5xx, the neck is definitely a 7xx variant, the body could be either, but the pups are definitely 5xx.

The "Parts-anez" fit's....... it just has all the right parts for a killer one-off.

I also agree that it could be an H&S creation. That's just as likely as it being a home-built.

Yikes, that was listed before at 625GBP ($1022) and now it's at 750GBP ($1226). Christmas tax!

Re: question about ebay 111232587262

LOL yeah some people might think that I'm strange rather than helpful!

The reason I think it's not a parts guitar is if it were, where exactly would that neck have come from? If it had an '89 or '90 serial number, I would believe that it came from a UCGR and someone just took the "U.S.A. Custom" off. But in 1992, every UCGR should have been AANJ and the logo should not be a check mark.

It may have been a low-level endorser guitar and Bensalem allowed them to order it with that neck.

Also need to wipe the drool from your mouth and clothes?

I love reading RGT's and TAR's posts. I always learn something new from them (and also LP and Rich's posts as well )
