Question about "Music Man Albert Lee Guitar Vintage Sunburst"

Nice review. I am in the process of trading my trans green axis sport for an AL SSS. I do have a question, mine is a 2004, do you think it has the tone block or solid ash...it is exactly the same color, btw...thanks.

Re: Question about "Music Man Albert Lee Guitar Vintage Sunburst"

The Axis Sport predates the development of the tone block; it would have a solid ash body. Only the Ball Family Reserve (BFR) versions of the Axis/Axis SuperSport have the tone block.

Similarly the only Albert Lee with a tone block is the BFR version (which also has a maple top).

Re: Question about "Music Man Albert Lee Guitar Vintage Sunburst"

sorry - never made my way back here. No - all Albert Lee SSS (or with 3 MM-90s) have solid ash bodies EXCEPT for the Al BFR model. The AL BFR is only available in pinkburst and has a figured maple top and had the mahogany tone block under the top. However, the AL HH model has a solid mahogany body. Hope that helps.
