Question about S540 or possible FGM model

Hi....I'm new around here and I just had a question about an S540 or possible Frank Gambale model /FGM 100. Which do you think it is?? It's serial is F93**** It's sky blue in color and the headstock is also sky blue. Black Ibanez logo...Lo pro trem. Lightning bolt inlay without "custom made" logo. Next to the serial# it says 540s but it may also be a FGM 100 produced in 91-94 colors are desert yellow, salmon pink, black and sky blue. Any info or opinions would be appreciated.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but are the inlays color-matched? The FGM guitars (except black) had color matched inlays. Also, the FGM guitars came stock with DiMarzios, which doesn't seem to be the case with the guitar in the photo. When in doubt, check the catalog scans on

The pickup rings look recessed, and that's the dead giveaway. Not all Gambale's had the colored inlays. The FG300 had regulars, but that color wasn't offered and it had the fast track rails pickup in the middle. It could definitely have a pickup or two replaced, but the blue didn't appear until after they switched to Lo-Pros, and that has an Edge. So unless my eyes deceive me, the recessed pickup rings mean it's at least a FG body. It could have a neck swap. Either way, if it's not yours, you should buy it! Or if it's cheap enough tell me about it!

Thanks guys...I'm starting to think it is an FGM 100. It's absolutely mint and the Black and Blue FGM's had the white inlay. I think they came with the dimarzio dual sound humbucker in the bridge. Ive seen plenty of S540's but none with color matched headstock. Thanks for the input!
