Question about T3120

I believe itīs been discussed before a few times, but here it goes:

What are the tone (sustain, treble, mid, bass, "volume level") differences between the T3120 and the 3120, without taking in consideration the fact that both guitars come with different bridge pickups?

Thanks in advance.

Funny you should ask...was just playing them both tonight. I haven't done any pickup swapping, so I can only compare with stock pups. The T seems a bit brighter, fuller, and stronger in tone to me...perhaps a bit more sustain. You can hear it distorted and clean as well...the 3120 has a bit more twang and snap. I realize all these terms are somewhat subjective, but that's my impression.

Hey! Thanks for helping!

Do you think those (letīs say) "extra tone features"
worth the extra $$$?

Some user told me the T sounds really good
with the combination Air Norton and Steve-s Special;
others like it with an Air Zone in the bridgespot...

Oh, I MUST try one asap.

Why the hell I keep saying "bridgespot" instead
of "brigdeslot"? Dammit.

"bridgespot" "brigdeslot"...it all works. Difficult to say on the basis of tone alone, in fact some guys here like the bolt neck tone better. I like both, but in different ways. You should also consider feel...the T has a chunkier neck with a gloss finish, much different feel. The neck joint on the T is really NICE.

Here's Glen's review:

I think when you actaully try one you'll know in a few minutes.

Thanks very much for all your help, Greg.

Iīll check the topics asap, specially that
3120 VS T3120. Actually I use to read
topics and reviews (Harmony Central)
as much as I can; and itīs good for my
Engrish

Anyway, Iīve tested the 3120 and loved
it. Simply wonderful.

Ghost,

I've had both guitars and the RGT is a little brighter. The 3120 has a mahogany body (Good for warmth) with a thin maple top (Maple is less porus than mahogany and maple tops tend to add brightness to the guitar - if a las paul didn't have the cap it would sound a little spongy) the top adds a little brightness to the 3120 but I think it is more cosmetic.
Because the RGT has a thru neck the maple runs through the heart of the guitar, with mahogany wings either side. That gives a bit more brightness over the 3120 and probably lets your solos cut thruogh the band more if you are playing live. I find that you need less compression before your amp & Stomp boxes with the RGT

Both good guitars though.

Good luck
