Quick question

I know this is going to seem a bit silly, but I have had my RGT3120 for 3 days and I just now realized that it is last year's model with the ol' Lo-Pro, not the new Edge-Pro. It is brand new from Sam Ash, it's just that when I was at the store I didn't think to check the trem because I assumed that since it is late 2003 that I would not have to worry about checking for a 2002 model.

Assuming that the trem is the only thing different between the 2002 and 2003 models, do you think I should take it back and ask for the 2003 version?

...and yes I made the connection that they still charged me the regular new '03 price even though it was a new '02 model.

I would complain about the difference in the price you paid, if there is a different list price between 2002 and 2003.

However, given the problems noted with some of the new Edge trems introduced for this years models, you might want to reconsider trying to get a 2003.

Just a thought..

There is no difference in price. The early problems with the EP have been sorted out at the fatory level, everything current still needs to be checked but rarely found with a problem.

Rich, did the factory ever say what the problem was? I saw your fix including new studs etc.

Anybody working on them knew what the problems were, unseated inserts and fat knife edges.

Sounds like my RG7 for a time Hey Rich i just noticed you post count ... I reckon you'll hit 10,000 in a week ;-) You'll have to get Glen to do a special (button/start/counter thingy) heh

I'd say if your happy with the guitar,Keep it ... If not get an 03 instead

Thanks for the replys guys... my main worry was about the difference in the trem. If there are no major differences that make the EP drastically better than the LPE then why change, right? As for the price... if the lists are virtually the same then I will keep quiet on that issue.

I just wanted to make sure that I didn't buy something that was inferrior to the current model before the refund-period expired.

Not here dude...

I've played a Zero Rocker, and it rules.
