RBM 10

Hello

I am new to the forums here but been lurking for a while.

I will be getting an RBM10 OL soon from a friend and “plan” to do a couple of mods to it. I have read that the first thing that should be replaced is the trem and then pups.

Anyone else care to comment on this specific model or can recommend some pups

Thanks,

Re: RBM 10

Don't get the RBM10, get the RBM1. The latter is Japanese-made and is a better guitar.

Re: RBM 10

I have an RBM-1 and if it has the same pickups, the bridge pickup is actually pretty sweet.

Doesn't look like it.

The RBM1 came with IBZ SB1's and IBZHB2
The RBM100 cames with SB10's and a HB1

The RBM400 came with the same pups as the RBM1 and a Edge Lo Pro Trem.

Do you know if I can drop in a Gotoh trem in the RBM100?? w/o any routing? I have read that the Edge Trems are great replacements for the TRS II trems.

Re: RBM 10

I know you can put a Gotoh in there, but that trem doesn't have as much material on the bass side and will leave a big gap in the route. The Edge is a great trem, but it may be too long to fit in there. I just checked the route on my RBM2 and it is 43mm along the side of the route, where you may have a possible fitment issue into a LoTRS II cavity.

If it looks like it would fit, I'd be happy to sell you the gold Edge from my RBM2. It's in average shape and I was considering replacing it with a brand new trem.

LOL...I don't own 50+ guitars, just 5

I bought the RBM1 a couple months ago from someone on this site. I had basically given up on getting an RBM2, so I set out to get a "cheap" RBM1 with the idea of maybe turning it into a project guitar.

I'll be happy to send you pics of the trem once I get a replacement charger for my camera and have a chance to clean up the trem a bit. I accidentally left the charger in the hotel while on vacation and my camera is dead until I get a new one.

All I would be replacing the trem with is just a brand new one. The guitar is almost 20 years old and I'd just like to restore it a bit. Rich Harris has a couple for sale but they go for $300, so if I could offset some of that cost by selling the used trem, that would be great.
