Received my 2006 NAMM special #1 today.

** scroll down for new pics **

I just got this in today and wanted to share it with someone who would really appreciate it like it do. I was fortunate to be able to receive this special #1 ordered immediately after this years NAMM show. I'm truly amazed with this guitar and love the pickups. The pics do no justice to the texture, grain and vibrance of the wood. (I can't believe I used the word "vibrance", that's a first.)

I'm new here so I don't wanna get on anyone's nerves, but those pictures are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! What the hell is the matter with you! lol!

Seriously, it's easy to tell that the guitar is awesome, but for crying out loud, get some better pictures! lol

Re: Received my 2006 NAMM special #1 today.

Yeah the pics are crap. I used a friends cel phone at work and the flash wouldn't go off. I'll post better pics today since I'm home. It's not serial #1, Ibanez had 3 specials made for NAMM in Feb. #1 being this model, #2 being the red puzzle, and #3 being the natual/stainded puzzle. Each sales rep was only allowed an order for two(2) out of the three so the production number is low. I'm still waiting for a number from the sales rep. I also have the natural/stained Puzzle #3 coming in, hopefully soon!

Re: Received my 2006 NAMM special #1 today.

Here are the new pics. They still don't do the guitar justice but they are significantly better. I was up most of the night playing this beauty and I still can't get over it and the case. I'll be able to crank it up through my Mesa Boogie at practice on Thursday, today it's just a POD Pro/headphones.

Awesome guitar. Congratulations.

BTW...what's on the back of the body and electrics plate? Certainly, it is not a scratch.

That is one sweet guitar. Enjoy.

I noticed it too. It's just in the picture. I guess it was a lens flare or dust on the lens. Ah! Upon closer inspection it's a white hair from my dog. He just had to get in the pics somehow.

I'm concerned the finish will fade out where my arm rests on the guitar but I have every intention to play and make this guitar one of my main axes if not the(e) main axe. Part of me hates to say that since I have a few nice custom made guitars from other high end companies but the quality, craftsmanship and playability of this guitar is right up there if not exceeding. I'll have more to review once I hear it cranked up in a big rehearsal room.

Thanks for all the cool replies. I've been reading and learning from this board for a while and just had to share. I started out with Ibanez in the 80's with an AxStar & RoadStar and in the 90's I bought an EX370(I still love it) and recently a Prestigue 7 string but after seeing the puzzle and this guitar from this years NAMM I just had to have it. I got lucky and now after receiving it I'm floored and back on the Ibanez kick. Imo, they're great guitars for technical metal.
