Recommend me some cool "non-Ibanez" guitars

OK guys, imagine if you will you had a significant but not stoopidly large amount of cash burning a hole in your pocket and you had decided to buy a guitar that wasn't an Ibanez like your other room full of Ibanez guitars.

What would you go for?

The only proviso is that you have to be able to go and buy it, you can't say "I'd go to a luthier and get a custom built". Seriously, I don NOT want to see that answer in this thread.

What's out there to go and try...

Have you checked out Godin? They make some really sweet stuff. Also, not the norm.

Charvel So-Cal and/or San Dimas. Best bang for the buck out there.

With my own preferances:
- Tyler - http://www.tylerguitars.com/ - (I might actually do what Guitarist Magazine suggested, to sell all my other guitars to get one. Just not yet. )
- Vigier - http://www.vigierguitars.com/ - maybe the one with a thimble...
- Ruokangas - http://www.ruokangas.com/ - just to suggest something from Finland.

I would say Fernandes Ravelle for a fixed bridge.. I have 2 and they are spectacular.
for a trem,, I would say go Charvel..

Re: Recommend me some cool "non-Ibanez" guitars

Do you mean to tell me that there are other guitar manafacturers out there besides Ibanez?

This can't be!

Now, being seriousness for a second. I personally would go for a PRS. You can generally get what you are after off the shelf.

How about an old mid80s Kramer? The Baretta is an obvious choice, butt he Pacers were great, too. Another guitar I regret ever selling was a pre-lawsuit ESP Mirage Deluxe.

Re: Recommend me some cool "non-Ibanez" guitars

I'd also go with a Charvel. awesome guitars, especially for the price.

Also, I like those Gibson 60's tribute SGs with the P90s. Most likely not what you're looking for but a great guitar nevertheless. Also, P90s are awesome.

What's the budget?

$1k = Charvel Pro-Mod So-Cal (I 100% agree with the best bang for your buck comment above)
$2k(ish) = EBMM JPX or JPXI

Also, I am a Carvin fan so I too recommend them! Great guitars and made here in the US!
