Not European I know but the 4 plate deal on the whote marble (pickguard/truss rod cover + 2 backplates) has ABSOLUTELY transformed my black 2004 RG1550 Prestige! Lightening fast postage from the USA too. The fit like a glove!!

Re: Replacement RG Pickguard in Europe

I've ordered accurate pickguards for many of my projects from Pickguard Heaven--good prices, too.

Hey bud, I know you don't mean it, but using the word "Jap" to describe a Japanese version is kind of derrogatory--some of us are Asian, or married to one. Thanks!

I know they're simple abbreviations, but some folks take them the wrong way. I made a simple and polite request, but your reply was a little harsh--be a little more polite please. We actually had someone get banned for those types of referrences recently. It really isn't too hard to type a few extra letters to avoid misconstrued slurs.

Re: Replacement RG Pickguard in Europe

Realistically, it's pretty easy to tell when someone means a term like "Jap" in a derogatory manner and that clearly wasn't the case here in any possible context. Personally, I'm not terribly thrilled with the concept of walking on eggshells around the rest of the world when it's entirely clear to everyone that no harm is meant. Of course, that debate is clearly best reserved for another time and place (especially another place, right mods? )

All that being said, I think the accepted standard in the Ibanez world to refer to something made in Japan is "MIJ". Probably best for everyone if we just stick with that.

Seriously!? Do we have to moderate grown adults like 12 year old children?

We have moderators, we don't need the PC police.

I know a shop in Germany that manufactures custom pickguards for Ibanez guitars. http://www.der-trashcontainer.de/kontakt.html They made a custom pickguard and Trussrod cover for me also.
