RG something
770 neck, the body might be a 470
the chunky block heel is giving me some difficulties but I'll see if i get used to it
some cosmo hardware is on order
I'm more of an S and Radius kinda dude
But, it was cheap and if it don't grow on me I might just create a FrankenIbby!

Re: RG

Thanks for the input RGTFanatic...
The previous owner of the guitar said the original black body was replaced with the green one due to an unfortunate accident. The original body must have had direct mount pickups, which is why you don't see pickup height adjustment screws in the pickup rings.but I will fix that problem with some nicer looking pickup rings, and I'll have to solder a nut to the pickups mounting flanges to make everything right.
I had to put a .7 mm shim in the neck pocket in order to get a proper setup. The action ended up being beautiful, 1mm on the 1st string and 1.5mm on the 6th at the 12th fret, with a slight neck relief, which is my preference. The Lo Pro Edge performs awesome as always..
Of course the F Series pickups sound amazing!
This is my first RG, even though it set up exactly how I wanted it, I'm still on the fence about the block heel neck joint. I'm having a hard time getting my hand around it. I'll give it some more time.

Re: RG

It turned out to be a great axe! it does look nice... although I think it would look better if it had a maple fretboard.

Yup, no doubt thats a 470 body. Still a nice guitar though. Did they install the locking studs for the trem, or do you have the original TRS studs in it?

Re: RG

--NVM, I can see they're lockers.

Other than the lack of a tilt heel, I'd be perfectly happy as it is. If you HAVE to have a tilt or full countour heel you can almost always fing 570/770 bodies on ebay...... usually $60 or less.

Re: RG

Update
After playing this for a few days, I've decided to go ahead and get a different body. I just can't get my hand around that chunky neck joint. I'm off to "the bay" to find one.

Put a "Want to buy" ad/thread in the classifieds here too. You'd be surprised how many of us have more parts than we do actual guitars.....LOL

You're right about that.. so that's why I've decided to take a body that I already have, and create another monster. The body is an old Westone we5400. A botched fret job by the PO left the neck in ruin, so I think a transplant is in order.. Ibatone? Westanez? Lol!
