RG 1451 - hardtail

I am gassing for a hardtail... and this one looks nice and even cheap for a MIJ.

Anybody has any opinions on this one? Pickups? Bridge?

Havent played one, but the white one has a weird finish. Its not glossy and its textured like the JEM DBK.

Re: RG 1451 - hardtail

I have played them for a couple of hours and I like them, they feel like a normal mid-priced RG with a FR bridge.

I have the bridge on some FR guitar that I have played alot and that bridge are fantastic (and looks cool).

The finish on the white European one are flat and sparkly (if I remember correctly, the sparkely part, not the flat part, it is flat).

Pickups are not as good as it can be...

Re: RG 1451 - hardtail

i own the RG1451:

the white plaster finish is similar to what Music Man did to their SUB1 guitars, a satin overcoat which is gloss-free. i'm into this finish type as i hear more midrange in the ouput. the default pickups here are ok, nothing fantastic though. waiting for my Duncans to arrive before swapping them out...

Re: RG 1451 - hardtail

got it too.

the guitar is fantastic. I love the tight end bridge. by far the best hard tail bridge I have ever played.
the stock pickups are better than their reputation, of course they are designed to please many styles and I prolly will swap em for some breeds.
also love the finish, looks awesome in person.

Re: RG 1451 - hardtail

the Tight End bridge has this angled sides so structurally it doesn't feel too blocky to the picking hand.
