Just bought a new 1570 this week in nickel. I'm really impressed with the workmanship and materials in this axe, especially being a PRS, Fender, Gibson, Guild guy for many years. Once I got it set up to my taste, it plays great and stays in tune rock solid. I've seen some gripes about the V series pickups, but I think they sound good, and match well to the type of guitar it's supposed to be. I get some very useable clean sounds using the bridge and neck pickups in combo with the middle, by rolling back the tone pot a bit.
I think it's a really great axe, plays great, sounds great, a good value and looks bitchin' too. Good luck with your decision.

i own the 1550 (really a 1570 + pickguard) & have been happy since the acquisition. the Prestige range of guitars are worth it IMO.

Very Nice guitar, if you can find a good price.

I like the whole thing, save for the pickups, witch allthough adaqute for the guitar, are quite weak.

Guitars like these just suite dimarzios, something in the Basswood body, ect, I would totaly, recomend a 1570 if you were going to upgrade the pickups.

Also to look at, is the 2570. which comes with Ibanez/Dimarzio Pickups and some v. Cool Shark fin inlays.

I find the pickups on those a tuch bellow Dimarzios standard range however, Have a play around and see what you think!

WOW

i bought one yesterday! it's great.the neck is the fastest and most comfortable that i've played. The guitar looks great looks great(i got one with a zinc blue finish) and the pickups are not bad(you can always replace them with dimarzios).also the treomolo is amazing.even when you do crazy vai stuff with the trem , the guitar doesn't get out of tune.it's an amazing guitar.
