*the RG7CTW and CT were both impressive.
I was referring to this quote when asking what a RG7CTW was.

I'm pretty familiar with the CT - I own one

Here's a photo of the flamed maple neck binding on former Brent's 1880 :

Re: RG 1880

I know this is an old thread, but i have to ask:

I might be trading my 2027 for a 1880.

how do they compare?

i read somewhere that the neck of the 1880 is huge! is this true?

a players report would be great....

i've also been offered a rg1712 and a rg1680....

Re: RG 1880

which one are you proposed ? (color ? year ?)
I think all the 1880 don't have exactly the same neck depending on the build year.

This guitar is really great, with some more finition details than de 1680...
I don't know anything about the 1712 (if you have a picture of that one, feel free to post )

Re: RG 1880

I have no clue what the RG1712 is, but I can tell you that the RG1880 is a great guitar. I just got my RG1880S-NT a few weeks ago and it plays great.

The neck doesn't feel that chunky to me, in fact it feels a bit thinner than a stock neck off a Jem7Vwh. It's a very comfortable neck though (at least for me).

Re: RG 1880

Until I can get a better shot, here's the shot I got before I bought it.

Oh by the way.. I'd like to state that I love my RG-1880-S. I might have to start liquidating some various other guitars to get another 1880 or maybe a 8570 or a 8670.

Re: RG 1880

I didn't know this RG1880S, it really looks great !!!

Straymond, I've never heard about a 1880 with a double edge.
Some 1680 "X" had one, but not 1880 I think

Re: RG 1880

I actually wasn't sure *WHAT* model this 1880S was because it didn't fit any of the 1880 descriptions exactly. But the day I got it I tool her apart and saw "RG1880S-NT-01" stamped in the neck and the neck pocket.

I'd really like to try an RG8670 though. Love the construction of the RG1880, but I also love the wafer thing 17mm neck on my Exotic wood USA custom.
