I would take a 770DX over the 2570. But compared to the regular 770 or a 750, I may take the 2570.

I played a 2570 recently. If i werent buying a Universe, i'd rush down to the sam ash and buy that ASAP. They have one of those and a RG1570... The 2570 Rules the 1570, i dunno but it just does it for me.

Is it just me or the new colours Ibanez have for the x550s and x570s aren't that appealing at all?

It's the same old story. There's a bunch of threads around here about how sucky Ibanez's color selections are. If you don't like blue or silver, you're pretty well screwed anymore. If you want something more interesting, you have to step up to a Jem or J-Custom, seems like. Well, there IS the RG320 in trans-red, I guess. But even on the Prestige line, it's pretty boring.

I played the 2570 two days ago, and it sounded great plugged in. It was well built and of high quallity, but when it came down to it I prefere a more unfinished neck.

I'd recomend the 700 DX's
