rg 2570vsl

Hey guys,

So I switched string gauge from 9-42 to 11-56. I re set up the guitar but am finding the bridge keeps wanting to creep up. I have 3 springs in the back, should I be adding a fourth ? I am tuned in c with the new gauge.

Thanks

You need to screw the screws in further in the back of the guitar, the ones connected to the claw that holds the springs. Basically with more string tension you need to counter the tension form the back of the guitar till the bridge is level.

This is probably correct^^^

Is it creeping up when it's sitting in a stand untouched? or is it creeping as your tuning to pitch???

Re: rg 2570vsl

Hook a tuner up to your guitar.
Unscrew the back plate.
Tune guitar. If your guitar keeps going flat tighten the screws holding the springs *very slightly*. Do the opposite if you're going sharp. Work the whammy bar for a bit to get out the flex in the strings and the springs. Work the flex out each time you change spring tension.
Retune guitar. Continue to adjust springs based on your tuning. This should get you in the ballpark.
Good luck!
