I'm a big fan of the Wizard neck. Have a you ever played a JEM? I think it's a huge difference. It's just whatever your hands feel most comfortable with.

Overall, I think the construction of the 550 is a little better.

does the 555 have a thicker neck?? my RG550 would be perfect (for me) if it had a slightly thicker neck.

555 has a thicker neck yes, and it also has evolutions. The Evo's are a plus

The minuses for me are the trem, and the half-baked vine inlay.

I have owned a 555 and a 550 with Evos and the 550 came out on top for me.

Re: RG 550 Better than jem 555?

I just bought a used 550 because I sold mine like an idiot about 10 years ago. I'm looking forward to my new toy!! It's black with maple fretboard. Putting in some white Duncan's. She's going to be sweet!!

I have nothing again Evo's, I think they're awesome. I just think Duncan's have a sweeter, and not so dry sound.
