Re: rg 550 or this maple monster prs

Wow that clip was impressive, both Hiland himself AND his new PRS. SO many great tones!

If you couldn't play either, I'd say go with the intent of the models-- the Hiland if you like more country/blues/rock, and the RG if you wanna do more modern/alternative rock or metal.

But if you get to play each of them, one of them will appeal to you more than the other. And your choice will be easier.

Peace

Mike

Re: rg 550 or this maple monster prs

i have played his sig and liked it alright, it still feels like a PRS neck wise, although it was changed enough that i found it a little more comfortable then most other models. I have never really liked the way PRS necks feel. Don't get me wrong, the guitars are top quality and beautiful but i have just never been a fan of how they play.

So if you have played a few other PRS guitars and liked them i'd feel safe saying that you probably enjoy his sig model.

The PRS, no question. But then, I have a 550 already Seriously though, if I could only have one or the other, I'd go with the PRS. PRS makes an outstanding gigging guitar if you play in cover bands and need a lot of available tonal options.

Wow, thanks for the video. I'd never heard of this guy before. He's wicked. The PRS is nice too.

That guy rocks but PRS is too much about the prestige of owning one... Do whatever suits your personality and style the best.

Oh yeah, I'm sure for him it's all about business. He'd be a Tele player if he didn't have a PRS deal.

I generally PRS, but the Hiland model is actually one I wouldn't mind having.
