RG 560 L needs Tremolo

hi all . I have a ibanez RG 560 L , and I am wondering if any floyd rose tremolos will fit the cavity and intonate well. The body is from between 87 - 89 I believe, and has the square heel tilt neck joint. Thanks for the feedback .

Re: RG 560 L needs Tremolo

The issue is I am a lefty, and I want to put gold hardware on the guitar. It is near impossible to find a gold edge tremolo for this body. So I have the neck and the body, but no tremolo. The burden of being left handed I guess, and I have a picture in my mind of what I want the end result to look like.

Re: RG 560 L needs Tremolo

and I forgot to mention I never had a tremolo for it . Just a body and nech. Seems the 560 L is perhaps somewhat rare with the whole H/S/S configuration and all .

The post spacing is 74mm, so anything with 74mm spacing will work. You can also modify a right handed Edge for a lefty--tutorial:

Trems that will work:

Enjoy...

Re: RG 560 L needs Tremolo

Thank you so much bat. I am building out 2 Ibanez's . Gonna go with the Gotoh on the RG 560 L , and maybe the edge the SRV way on a RG 550, if I can find a neck for it . gain thanks so much for clarifying this for me . I think this is gonna be a smoking little project guitar.

I sure will . I am sanding the body down , and I am going to finish it with tung oil in as close of a translucent black finish as i can, with gold hardware . I am researching on here some of the mods people have made to the volume control , as it is not in a particularly good spot with the way i pick. I can not wait to see the end result of this project.

Re: RG 560 L needs Tremolo

Plug the volume pot hole with a dowel, let glue dry, cut flush, sand smooth, then relocate the volume pot to where the tone pot was.

Here's an idea! How about adding a flamed maple veneer, then staining it translucent black? You can get a nice 3-D look to the figure if done right. It will be a pretty inexpensive undertaking.
Supplies:
$20.00

$12.50

Now that is awesome !!! And not as expensive as I would have thought!! You are expanding my ideas of what this guitar can be, and what it should be .

I am very happy I joined this site. Although Ibanez make a very limited selection of lefty guitars, they are my absolute favorites. I have never had a guitar that from the moment i picked it up , everything felt so comfortable . I can tell I am going to meet some really cool friends on here, and I can tell everybody on here looks out for each other on projects . Very very cool . Now one more question . Any recommendations on good after market necks for the older square heeled Ibanez's with the square heel ?
