Question rg case dilemma

Here something that i can't resolve...bought a new rg470, came with a nice gator tsa case, but i am afraad the case is too tight for the axe w/bar...noticible marks in case top after holding guitar...nice case, just wondering if i should get the m100c case instead. Am I crazy or right ???

Re: rg case dilemma

Are you asking if the m100c allows for you to leave the whammy bar still attached while inside the closed case?

Re: rg case dilemma

no no no...I guess i phrased it wrong, but i only meant an rg w/ a bar, not fixed bridge. Obviously you remove the arm. my concern is the fine tuners and bridge pieces are leaving indents in the case top inner, concerned about excess pressure one the bridge assy. I think I am wigging over this, but who knows

Re: rg case dilemma

My UV1000 case for my 7 string is completely indented by the guitar. I think if you've got some indents, it means you've got a snug fit and your guitar won't be moving around. I've never worried much about it, though I don't keep my guitars in cases, only when I travel with them. Other than that, they are all hanging up with wall hangers.

I wouldn't sweat it.

Re: rg case dilemma

Don't think its much of a problem,as long as the trembase doesnt hit your guitar.
Most important is that the neck fits tight (over the whole length) in its case together with the neckjoint so there wont be anny friction between neck and body.

If you could get your hands on a RG Prestige case you'll have the best fitting case ever.

Re: rg case dilemma

when i'm doing another 'brand' case for my RG, I'll make sure the headstock is not touching the base of the case. make sure the neck sit tight at the pocket. So far, only Ibanez case can do that. But never tried a gator case, so I don't know.

Thumbs up Re: rg case dilemma

appreciate all the input...case is really perfect... i even made measurements to ensure its ok...after closer inspection, i find this case is awesome! it has a beautiful neck cradle that works with a padded section under the body to fully support the axe. the headstock "floats", doesn't come close to hitting anywhere. there are two stiff crossmember type pieces, that, when closed form a frame or box around the guitar. tsa approved, excellent lock, strong enough to stand on...Yay!!!

Re: rg case dilemma

I have yet to see a hardshell electric guitar case that doesn't have those marks indented on the inside of the lid. If I see those, its working as intended.
